Tea With Harriet

By Bowdoin College Library (other events)

17 Dates Through May 16, 2019

ABOUT ABOUT

Join Harriet's Writing Room staff for a monthly afternoon tea and conversation about Harriet Beecher Stowe. Each month we explore a different aspect of Stowe's life and legacy, from her writings to her personal life in Brunswick, Maine, from 1850 to 1852.  Often a guest speaker joins Cathi Belcher, Stowe House Educator, to offer their perspective on Stowe. Past presenations have explored the advent of tourism in Harpswell, Maine, which was inspired by Stowe's The Pearl of Orr's Island; the architectural history of the Stowe House at 63 Federal Street; and early photographic representations of Stowe.

Due to limited seating and this event's popularlity, you must reserve tickets in advance for the event. Tickets are free, but limited. Tickets for the next tea become available immediately after the preceding month's tea, so check back often.  Beginning with the June 2018 tea, only one ticket can be reserved per person.

We hope to see you soon at Tea with Harriet.
